Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Cakelle Atelier handles information collected through this website. It is written for the site as it actually works. It is not a substitute for legal advice. The business address is 400 N Hogan St, Jacksonville, FL 32202. The phone number is +1 (904) 643-4172. A separate privacy email address has not been published.
Who this policy covers
It covers visitors to this website and people who send a cake request. It does not describe any other shop, app, or social media account.
Information you give us
The cake request form asks for your name, email address, phone number, event type, cake category, event date, number of servings, an optional flavor note, design details, a pickup or delivery preference, a delivery ZIP code when you ask about delivery, an optional reference image, and your confirmation that we may use these details to respond. Please do not send sensitive information that the order does not need.
Information collected automatically
The form uses a first-party session cookie so the site can tell a real submission from an automated one. A rate limit stores timestamps under a coded filename derived from the network address. The form contents are not written into that file. This website does not run analytics, advertising pixels, or a payment checkout.
Why the information is used
- To read your cake request and reply with options and pricing.
- To make a cake if you and Cakelle Atelier both confirm the order.
- To arrange pickup or delivery if that fulfillment is accepted.
- To keep the form from being flooded with automated submissions.
- To look at a reference image you chose to upload.
Messages are not added to a mailing list. The form is not a newsletter signup.
Form delivery
When an order inbox and a from-address are configured on the server, the request is emailed to that inbox. Until those addresses are set, the form does not send the request and does not claim that it did. Reference images are stored outside the public website only as part of an email attempt, in a folder that is blocked from normal web access. If email fails, the site tells you to call and removes that upload.
Cookies
The only cookie this site sets is the session cookie named cakelle_session, and it is set when the contact page asks the server for a form token. It is essential to submit the form. It is not used for advertising. Details are in the Cookie Policy. No optional tracking cookie is in use, so this site does not show a consent banner.
How long information is kept
Cakelle Atelier has not adopted a fixed retention period such as a set number of years. Request emails and reference images should be kept only long enough to reply, to make a confirmed cake, and to answer a follow-up about that order, and then deleted. They are not kept for marketing. If a more precise schedule is adopted, this policy should be updated before launch. That item is on the owner configuration list.
Service providers
The site is hosted on a server the business controls through its hosting panel. Email, when enabled, is sent with the server’s mail function to the inbox the business configures. No payment processor, analytics vendor, or font host is connected. Fonts are stored with the website. The Google Maps link on the contact page is an ordinary link. The map is not embedded, and opening it takes you to Google under Google’s own terms.
Security
The form checks the session token, rejects an automated honeypot field, limits how many submissions one network can make in an hour, and accepts only JPEG, PNG, and WebP uploads under 4 MB. Uploaded files are not placed in a public folder. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Do not send a cake request from a shared computer if you are concerned about the browser keeping the page.
Children
This website is for people ordering celebration cakes. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from children. A parent or guardian may include a child’s first name as the wording for a cake.
Your choices
You may ask what request information we still have, ask for a correction, or ask for a deletion by calling +1 (904) 643-4172. Please describe the request clearly, including the email address you used. Some details may need to be kept if they are required for a confirmed order or a legal obligation. Because no privacy inbox has been published, the phone number is the contact method.
Changes
If the form, the cookies, or the inbox setup changes, this page should be updated to match. The current page describes the site that is published with it.
